The results of Turkey’s Top 1000 Exporters research prepared by TIM have been announced. 56 Bursa companies were included in the list where Ford Automotive was the export champion of 2021.

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), “The 2021 Champions of Exports Award Ceremony and TIM 29th Ordinary General Assembly” was held at Istanbul Haliç Congress Center with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The awards to the top 10 exporting companies in Turkey in 2021 were presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The top 10 companies awarded with the highest export volume last year are respectively; Ford Automotive Industry, Toyota Automotive Industry Turkey, Turkey Petroleum Refineries, Kibar Foreign Trade, Vestel Ticaret, Arçelik, Oyak-Renault Automobile Factories, SOCAR Turkey Petroleum, HABAŞ Industrial and Medical Gases Istihsal Industry, TGS Foreign Trade. At the ceremony, the awards of the champions with the highest exports in 27 sectors were presented by the Ministers and TİM President İsmail Gülle.

President Erdogan praises exporters

In his speech at the 29th Ordinary General Assembly of TİM and the Champions of Export Award Ceremony, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey has become a country whose flag flies all over the world with its exports to 217 different and regions. President Erdoğan said: “It is also important that our exports increase not only in terms of quantity but also in unit value. This table indicates that we are getting closer to our goal of exporting high value-added products, step by step. Our exports have shouldered nearly half of Turkey’s growth in the first quarter of 2022. This picture is proof that we are taking firm steps towards our goal of growing our country with investment, employment, production, export and current surplus.”

The contribution of the first 1000 exporters was 123 billion dollars

According to the results of TİM’s “Turkey’s Top 1000 Exporters 2021” research, total exports in 2021 increased by 32.8% compared to the previous year and reached 225 billion 220 million dollars. The total exports of the companies in the top 1000 in 2021 increased by 33.2 percent compared to the previous year and reached 12.3 billion dollars. While the share of these companies in total exports was 54.7%, the number of companies exporting 1 billion dollars or more was 15.

80% of the first 1000 are domestic companies

According to the research, while 827 companies were in the top 1000 in 2021, 173 companies managed to be among the 1000 for the first time this year. Domestic companies made up 80 percent of the top 1000. These companies realized 63 percent of the total exports of the first 1000. In addition, 66.5% of the first 1000 consisted of producer-exporter companies. 57.7 percent of the first 1000 companies were located in the Marmara Region.

Companies from 52 provinces were included in the Top 1000 Exporters List. The provinces with the highest number of companies in the list in 2021; Istanbul with 429 companies, İzmir with 78 companies, Gaziantep with 71 companies, Bursa with 56 companies and Ankara with 46 companies.

Bursa’s Top 1000 Performance TİM Top 1000 Exporters

The exports of 52 companies included in the 2021 research were 8 billion 169 million 104 thousand 190 dollars in 2021. The Bursa company that made the most exports last year, with an export of 2 billion 18 million 782 thousand dollars, was Oyak-Renault Automobile Fab. Inc. while Tofaş Türk Automobile Fab. Inc. and Bosch Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. with 925 million 38 thousand dollars. followed.

While 17 Bursa companies in this year’s list increased their ranking compared to last year, 26 companies regressed in the list. While 4 companies that were not included in the list last year found their place in this year’s list, the ranking of 1 company did not change. 4 companies from Bursa did not want to share their information.

Gemlik Fertilizer Industry, which was not on the list last year, was included in the 2021 list at 231st, Mass Global Tekstil 757th, Mar-Eks Marmara Tekstil 958th and Maysan Mando 996th. Cansan Aluminum, on the other hand, kept its 637th place.
