
Realizing 2.5 billion dollars of its total exports from Istanbul in the January-July period of this year, the sector sold 635 million dollars to Italy, 340 million dollars to the USA and 323 million dollars to Spain.
The textile and raw materials sector realized a record export of 6.1 billion dollars in the January-July period of this year.
According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey’s exports increased by 13.4 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 18.5 billion dollars.
In January-July 2022, exports increased by 19.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 144.4 billion dollars. Annualized export value exceeded 248 billion dollars.
The textile and raw materials sector, which exported more than 723 million dollars in July 2021, achieved an export of 728 million dollars with an increase of 0.7 percent in the same period of this year.
In January-July 2022, the sector realized an export of 6 billion 119 million dollars with an increase of 9.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Thus, the textile and raw materials sector reached the highest January-July exports of all time.
A portion of 317 million dollars of the sector’s exports last month was made from Istanbul. Istanbul was followed by Gaziantep with $121 million and Bursa with $83 million.
In January-July 2022, 2 billion 460 million dollars of the sector’s exports of 6.1 billion dollars was realized from Istanbul, 1 billion dollars from Gaziantep and 736 million dollars from Bursa.
In the textile and raw materials sector, Italy was the country with the highest export sales last month, with 67 million dollars. Russia followed Italy with $43.8 million and Belarus with $39.5 million.
In the 7 months of this year, the sector sold 635 million dollars to Italy, 340 million dollars to the USA and 323 million dollars to Spain.
Looking at the country groups to which the most exports were made last month, EU countries ranked first with 278 million dollars, the Commonwealth of Independent States ranked second with 139 million dollars and African countries ranked third with 86 million dollars.
When we look at the exports made to the mentioned country groups in 7 months, it is seen that 2 billion 585 million dollars were exported to EU countries, 805 million dollars to the Commonwealth of Independent States and 798 million dollars to African countries.
Exporting to 163 countries and regions in July, the sector had a 3.9 percent share of the country’s total exports in the same period.
