Discovery of Industry Vocational High Schools

In Bursa, the production and export center of our country, the most important problem in almost every sector is not being able to reach qualified workforce. In recent years, studies in the field of vocational education have gained momentum in order to prevent the problems experienced.

There are more than enough university graduates

In the industry, all companies have difficulties in finding intermediate staff. I think the reason for this is the education system in our country. Because in every branch, more than enough university graduates are produced. These cause clutter. Meanwhile, the old value of vocational education in our country has been lost. For this reason, we are trying to return vocational education to the old system. For this, we started a campaign as the Organized Industrial Zones Supreme Organization (OSBÜK). With this campaign, we have the idea to establish an industrial vocational high school within the OIZs for the needs of that region or to cooperate with an industrial vocational high school until it is built. As Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone (NOSAB), we made a protocol with Atatürk Industrial Vocational High School in this context. We also opened an office for NOSAB regarding this issue. Thus, we will coordinate all the students of Atatürk Industrial Vocational High School to do internships in the companies of our region. After the internship, we will mediate their placement. We still have a target to open an industrial vocational high school or an educational institution as a region. We are trying to solve the space problem in our region regarding this issue. When the space problem is resolved, we will bring an industrial vocational high school to our region. Here, too, we will open the departments needed by our regional industrialists and provide the best education and training opportunities to our students there, and we will place them in jobs in our companies in the region.

A productive vocational education integrated with industry

Bursa is a locomotive city in industry as well as its ancient history. I believe that Bursa will do it if it wants to. Bursa is a city with high potential. There are business people, industrialists, teachers and schools with high potential. With the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the work of our Ministry of National Education, interest in vocational education is increasing day by day. On August 6, 2021, there were 3,502 students enrolled in the Vocational Education Centers (MEM) in Bursa, and today this figure has increased to 9,800. There has been a 200 percent increase in the number of students enrolled in MEM in the last month.

The focus of vocational education is very strong in Bursa. Because the focus of this is industry. The main policies of our ministry include cooperation with the business world. I believe that too. Because trying to maintain vocational education without collaborating with the industry is like a waste of money. A productive vocational education integrated with industry fully defines the vocational education policy of our Ministry. Schools need to coordinate technology with industry. When you train the student with the current technologies used in the industry, you can get high efficiency when you hire him. Industry should enter vocational education much more. In my opinion, it is necessary to entrust vocational training to the sector, so to speak. A city with a strong industry needs to raise its children in industry.

The biggest problem of the industrialists is not being able to find qualified personnel. In fact, this is not just the industrialist’s problem. The places where qualified personnel are trained are shown as schools. In fact, we want to see industrial companies and the entire industrial park as places where qualified personnel are trained. We want to make the industrialist’s factory a school. In the new policy, we want to send more children to the industry so that they can grow up. This is the new policy of our ministry. As the registrations in MEM increased, the hand of our industrialists became stronger. Up to 50 percent of the insurance and salary of the child who starts working with MEM is covered by the state.

The new vocational education system will be nearly 100% employment-oriented. If we solve the problems in vocational education and increase our qualified manpower; gains vocational training, so Turkey wins. If vocational education gets stronger, production gets stronger. The journey of a strong producing Turkey goes through vocational training. Vocational education is the key to salvation. He works in OIZs in the MEM = Contract = Job = Employment model. With this project, the number of students going to MEM in Turkey increased by 100 percent. It increased from 156 thousand to 360 thousand. It increased from 3,506 to 9,800 in Bursa. The target is 1 million. Our target is 20 thousand and above. The business has faced an explosion of demand from our people. There is a huge demand from our businessmen. He wants to take the child and raise it and keep it to himself.

Students in Bursa should know what kind of city they live in. What is the industry of Bursa, what is the importance of the industry of Bursa for Turkey and what kind of gains does it have if it is included in the industry? If we can successfully integrate the industrial and vocational high schools, the industrialist will have entered the schools and will appear in front of the child. Therefore, we hold industrialist meetings. We will increase it. Students should listen to this city from the industrialists. The business world has a big role to play here.
